Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any further questions or requests please contact me. I'd be happy to field anything of concern.
Do You Shoot Weddings
Extremely Rare: I have shot weddings, however, at this time I am not actively looking to shoot weddings. I've made a shift to portraits in addition to my landscape and adventure work. If you want more details on weddings please contact me via email.
Do You Offer Retouching Services
Yes; I bill out at $85/hour for retouching. Please email me for further details
What Equipment Do You Use
I shoot with Canon and GoPro equipment usually. I also have studio lighting equipment and backdrops. Post is the Adobe Creative Suite, including PhotoShop and Lightroom.

Do You Offer Make-Up and Hair Services
Yes, but as an add-on service. I contract out to local professional in the area I’m shooting for such things. Fees in the Denver Metro usually run $100-$200 and will be added to the shoot price. Outside the Metro Area may vary.
Do You Accept Credit Cards
Yes. I accept all major credit cards, check, PayPal, and, of course, cash.
Do You Have A Studio
I do have access to a studio, however, my preference is to shoot on location; at YOUR location of choice. Especially for boudoir and personal work, my experience has shown that a comfortable and familiar location yields the best results
Discounts and Coupons
I'll occasionally run a deal on Social Media for prints or session discounts, as well as free shoot promotions. Be sure to follow the adventure on Social Media so as to keep up to date. Promotions run for a limited time and are for first sessions only.
How Far Will You Travel
All depends on the assignment; when travel is required for contracted projects I hop a plane/train/automobile as necessary and often end up needing my passport. For non-commercial/individual clients, I'll travel up to 50 miles from South Metro Denver (80127). If you are outside of the 50 mile radius, there is a charge of a $50 set-up fee to cover expenses.
Do You Do Pro-Bono Work or Trade Services
Sometimes. It’s all project dependent. I am always working on side-creative projects that may offer opportunity for models or groups to be involved without a traditional shooting fees. Feel free to send me an email with your thoughts or queries.
What Should I/We Wear
All project/session dependent: For example, likely not a great idea to wear boudoir style dubs for a professional headshot shoot. Generally, it’s best to keep clothing simple, avoiding logos or busy patterns. I always suggest layers/textures. In group photos, color coordinating is pleasing to the eye. Wear clothes that represent you and who you are. Feel free to bring a change of clothing.
What to Have On Hand
For family and/or children photo sessions: outfit changes, a drink, favorite toy, special stuffed animal. Please make sure your little one has been fed and had a nap before the photo session for a more comfortable and positive experience.
How do we book you?
Simply let me know you would like to book a photo shoot session, what dates work best for you and what type of session you are looking for through my contact page or email me at info@KColbyPhotography.com.
When will I receive my photos?
Depends on the package and agreement. Approximately 4-6 weeks after your session, I will have your custom webpage URL set up so you may select your photos and/or have prints sent to you. Pictures will be professionally edited, color corrected (if needed), some offered in black & white. I will usually post a sneak peek photo of the session on my website and/or Facebook page within a few days of your session.
What Kind of Experience Do You Have
I have been a part-time, hobbyist photographer off and on since 2002. KColby Photography has been a constant pursuit, but grew rapidly in 2012. I've spent most of my photography career shooting back-county and landscape work throughout the Western United States. I have a bachelors in History and Anthropology; and over 10 years of marketing and business development. These are huge parts of my philosophy and business ideals.
